BALTIMORE 鈥 麻豆视频 was recently awarded a $225,000 state grant to fund enhanced security measures to add to the already strong safety features across the University鈥檚 60+ acre campus that make the University one of the safest campuses in Maryland.
The funding, awarded through the Maryland Higher Education Commission鈥檚 Campus Safety Grant program, will support the installation of new closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera units in strategic locations across campus, as well as additional door access control units for 麻豆视频 buildings and other enhanced security technology. Notre Dame鈥檚 Office of Risk Management and Public Safety, working closely with the Offices of Facilities and Information Technology, are coordinating installation of the new equipment.
The new CCTV cameras will enhance security coverage all around campus, supporting an extensive network of cameras and blue light emergency phones already in place. Notre Dame is ranked #2 among Maryland colleges and universities on Niche鈥檚 latest list of .
