(BALTIMORE, Md.) – 鶹Ƶ was named to the as one of the nation’s best colleges or universities in developing strong pathways for transfer students to succeed.
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, an honor society for associate degree students, selected 171 four-year colleges and universities for this year’s Transfer Honor Roll by evaluating 40 key metrics, including college cost and financial aid, campus life, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion. The data used for the analysis came from the National Student Clearinghouse and from the institutions directly for their profiles on , Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool to connect students to information on colleges and careers. The Transfer Honor Roll represents the top 25 percent of colleges and universities in PTK Connect.
“鶹Ƶ is committed to providing transfer students with a smooth transition into the University and robust support to graduate on time with a respected degree,” said Scott Briell, senior vice president for enrollment & student services. “鶹Ƶ continues to strengthen our partnerships with community colleges and create specialized initiatives to help transfer students realize their higher education goals.”
A gender inclusive comprehensive university rooted in the Catholic tradition, 鶹Ƶ makes it easy for students to transfer credits and complete their degree. New transfer students who live in Maryland are automatically eligible to receive 鶹Ƶ’s Maryland Transfer Grant when they enroll full time in a bachelor's degree program in the Women's College. 鶹Ƶ also partners with the 14 other members of the Maryland Independent College and University Association to work with Maryland’s community colleges to create a comprehensive transfer consortium and improve transfer pathways to colleges. In addition, 鶹Ƶ has developed transfer partnerships with colleges and universities around the world and participates in the Maryland Articulation System (ARTSYS), used by community colleges in the state to recommend transfer programs.
