Â鶹ÊÓƵ Student Travels to Paris to Study Medieval Latin Manuscripts

Like many students, marketing communications major Michaila Sheedy ’21, is taking advantage of what the University has to offer. In addition to being a student athlete and working as a student ambassador, Sheedy recently took part in a study abroad trip to Paris exploring medieval Latin manuscripts.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ Rallies to Help the SSND Haiti Project

This summer, will mark the third summer Â鶹ÊÓƵ Provost Sr. Sharon Slear has led a team of faculty and staff to a very small, extremely impoverished island off the coast of Haiti. The area was hit especially hard during the 2010 hurricane. Many nations have helped with resources, but there remains little to no opportunity for an adequate education. Sr. Sharon, with the help of Â鶹ÊÓƵ's School of Education, is doing everything she can, to change that.

School of Education is Awarded $300,000 Grant by the State of Maryland to Help Students with College Costs

More than two dozen Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Education students will soon be getting help with everything from tuition to the cost of books. It is all thanks to a newly awarded grant by the State of Maryland.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ has named Sharon Slear, SSND, Ph.D. as provost and vice president of academic affairs (VPAA). This is a vacancy that Sister Sharon has been filling since earlier this year, when she took over as Interim VPAA.

Each year, Â鶹ÊÓƵ honors a faculty member with the Mullan Distinguished Teaching Award. The 2018-2019 awardee is Associate Professor Stephanie Wilhide Savick, Ph.D. She is an integral part of the School of Education and has deep roots in Â鶹ÊÓƵ, having earned her bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. from the University.
